Manuscript Screening

The Editor will examine submitted manuscripts for screening on the following aspects: 1) research quality, 2) plagiarism, and 3) adherence to writing guidelines. Editor conducts plagiarism screening using the Turnitin application with a maximum similarity threshold of 25%. Manuscripts that pass all three screenings will proceed to the peer review process, while the manuscripts that fail the research quality or plagiarism screenings will be rejected. The Editor may decide to reject a manuscript without the peer-review process.

Peer-Review

JSFK conducts the peer-review process using the double-blind review method, where reviewers do not have access to the authors' identities and vice versa. At least two reviewers review each manuscript. The editor may add more reviewers if necessary. The editor makes the decision on the manuscript considering the reviewers' recommendations and suggestions.

Editing

Manuscripts accepted after peer review proceed to the copyediting process conducted by a specialized Copyediting Editor. Copyediting involves correcting grammar, writing style (typography), and other writing format aspects according to JSFK publication standards. After this stage, Authors are requested to review the copyedited manuscript and provide corrections (if necessary) to the manuscript that has passed the copyediting stage by the Editor.

Manuscripts that have passed the copyediting stage proceed to the layout process conducted by a specialized Layout Editor. JSFK uses a specific layout for all manuscripts to obtain an interactive PDF document in the specified format.

The manuscript in the form of a finalized PDF document will be sent to the author and Editor for the proofreading process. Authors are required to check the proofreading version of the document and annotate corrections on the PDF using the "highlight" and/or "comment" features with applications such as Adobe Reader; Acrobat Reader DC; and similar tools. Once corrections are noted on the proofreading version, the corrected PDF document must be returned to the Editor for final article revisions.

Manuscripts that have been corrected by the Layout Editor based on corrections made during the proofreading process by the author will be included in the publication list under the appropriate Volume and Issue number. The article will be accessible online once the journal with that volume and issue number has been published.

The entire review process, including correspondence between authors, editors, and reviewers, is conducted through the JSFK website using the Open Journal System (OJS) platform.
