To achieve this, JSFK utilizes multiple digital archiving systems, guaranteeing that articles remain accessible to the global community, even in the case of unforeseen events or discontinuation of the journal.

1. PKP Preservation Network (PKP-PN)

JSFK participates in the PKP Preservation Network (PKP-PN), a decentralized preservation system that ensures the long-term preservation of Open Access journals. Through PKP-PN, JSFK’s published content is securely archived in a network of geographically distributed servers. This decentralized model provides added protection and ensures that the journal’s content remains available and accessible in the event of a catastrophic failure or loss of data at a single location.

2. Portico

JSFK also partners with Portico, a leading digital preservation service used by libraries and publishers to ensure the long-term accessibility of scholarly content. Portico archives the journal’s content and makes it available in the event that JSFK ceases publication or its website becomes unavailable. By participating in Portico, JSFK guarantees that its scholarly content will remain accessible for future generations, preserving the integrity of the academic record.

3. Open Journal Systems (OJS) Backup

In addition to PKP-PN and Portico, JSFK’s Open Journal Systems (OJS) platform maintains regular backups of all published articles, metadata, and supplementary files. This ensures that the journal’s content is stored securely and can be restored in the event of a technical issue or failure.

4. Access to Archived Content

In the event that Jurnal Sains Farmasi & Klinis discontinues operations or experiences a catastrophic data loss, the full text of all published articles will remain freely accessible through the PKP-PN and Portico archives. Both systems ensure that the archived content is available to researchers, libraries, and the general public, maintaining JSFK’s commitment to open access.

5. Continual Archiving

JSFK continues to work with PKP-PN and Portico to archive newly published articles. This ongoing archiving ensures that all content is preserved and that the journal remains fully compliant with industry standards for digital preservation.

6. LOCKSS and Repository

JSFK uses the LOCKSS system to establish a distributed archiving system among participating libraries. This allows the libraries to create permanent archives of the journal for preservation and restoration purposes.
