Plagiarism Policy
1. Plagiarism Checker using Turnitin
Plagiarism screening is done using the Turnitin application with a maximum similarity threshold of 25%. Manuscripts that pass all three screenings will proceed to the peer-review process. Those that fail the research quality and/or plagiarism screenings will be rejected. The Editor has the authority to reject a manuscript without going through the peer-review process.
2. Consequences of Plagiarism
- If plagiarism is detected before publication, the manuscript will be rejected, depending on the severity of the plagiarism.
- If plagiarism is detected after publication, the article will be retracted, and a retraction notice will be published on the journal's website. The author's institution may also be notified.
3. Author Responsibility
Authors are responsible for ensuring the originality of their work and that all sources are properly cited. Any text, data, or ideas taken from other works must be appropriately referenced. JSFK advises authors to check their manuscripts for potential plagiarism issues before submission.
4. Self-Plagiarism
JSFK does not tolerate self-plagiarism, which occurs when authors reuse their own previously published work without proper citation or when a manuscript contains significant overlap with another of the author's published papers. Authors are required to disclose any prior publication of similar work and must ensure that their submission is sufficiently distinct from any previously published material.
5. Editorial Screening Process
Before sending a manuscript for peer review, the Editor will review the Turnitin report to ensure compliance with the journal's plagiarism policy. Manuscripts that do not meet the plagiarism standards will be rejected or returned to the author for revision.
6. Ethical Considerations
JSFK adheres to the ethical guidelines set by the Committee on Publication Ethics (COPE). Any allegations of plagiarism will be investigated following COPE’s procedures, and appropriate actions will be taken to address any misconduct.
