Review Neutrophil Gelatinase-Associated Lipocalin (NGAL): Perannya sebagai Biomarker pada Kerusakan Ginjal Akut

Abstract

Kerusakan ginjal akut merupakan penyakit yang berisiko tinggi menyebabkan pasien kritis hingga kematian, membutuhkan diagnosis yang cepat dalam penanganannya. Saat ini pendeteksian penyakit kerusakan ginjal akut masih terbatas dan belum dilakukan secara umum untuk dijadikan standar biomarker yang cepat dan tepat. Neutrophil gelatinase-associated lipocalin (NGAL) merupakan protein lipocalin 25 kDa yang terdapat pada sel epitel ginjal dan hati. NGAL dapat merespon langsung terjadinya kerusakan pada sel tubular epitel, ditandai dengan meningkatnya NGAL dalam urin dan plasma, sehingga NGAL dapat dijadikan penanda kerusakan ginjal akut dengan cepat dengan sensitivitas dan spesifisitas tinggi. Metode yang digunakan dalam review artikel ini menggunakan penelusuran melalui PubMed. Tujuan review artikel ini adalah untuk menunjukkan bahwa NGAL dapat dijadikan penanda gagal ginjal akut yang cepat dan sensitif.
